When he’s not making ladies swoon on “Grey’s Anatomy,” Patrick Dempsey participates in an investment group called Global Baristas.
And McDreamy scored a big win for his organization this week, outbidding Starbucks Inc at an auction to acquire the Seattle-based Tully’s Coffee company.

Dempsey took to his Twitter page to share his excitement over the whole ordeal on Wednesday (January 2)- "In Seattle, big day tomorrow! Hope we pull it off!"
And on Thursday he unveiled the great news- "We met the green monster, looked her in the eye, and . . . she blinked! We got it! Thank you Seattle!"
In a subsequent press release, Patrick gushed, "I'm thrilled that we won and I'm even more excited about saving Tully's Coffee and its hundreds of jobs. Tully's is a great company with committed employees, and with its base in Seattle, one of the world’s greatest cities, I'm confident we will be able to successfully build the brand and help grow the economy. Seattle has been very good to me over my career, and I am honored to have the privilege to own Tully's and work closely with the company's employees."
Tully’s returned the compliment- "We are very encouraged and excited that Patrick Dempsey's commitment to Tully's, to the company, the stores and perhaps most importantly, in keeping the members of Tully's family in place as they are today. This is a big win for Seattle."
