She's already lined up for a career shift, and now it seems as though Britney Spears will be back on the hunt for Mr. Right after breaking up with fiance Jason Trawick.
Breaking the sad news on Friday evening (January 11), the former "X Factor" starlet said in a statement, "Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement. I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends."
Pitching in on the press release, Trawick told,
"As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her
and her boys and we will be close forever."
Meanwhile, Britney's rep commented further on the relationship woes, as Jeff Raymond told press, "Britney Spears and Jason Trawick have mutually agreed to end their one-year engagement."
Talking to People magazine, Raymond added, "As two mature adults, they came to the difficult decision to go their separate ways while continuing to remain friends."
The parting comes after 31-year-old Spears and 40-year-old Trawick revealed that they were engaged to be married back in December 2011.
Unable to take the final step, the breakup is also in place on a professional level - as Jason also stepped down as Britney's conservator while leaving those duties solely to his ex's father, Jamie Spears.
