Last night Gerard Pique tweeted that his girlfriend Shakira gave birth to their baby boy, but it turns out the whole thing was nothing more than a well-played goof.
The Barcelona FC soccer stud tweeted, “Our son has been born! We are very happy! Thanks to all for your messages,” to his almost-five million followers.
And despite the fact that the “Hips Don’t Lie” songstress isn’t due for a few months, many folks fell for it.
However, it turns out Gerard followed things up this morning with another tweet- “It has a name! His name is Innocent! Happy Dia de los Inocentes to all!”
For those not in the know, Dia de los Inocentes is an April Fools-like holiday in Spain and Mexico.
