Paying tribute to the finest names in the UK for 2012, Queen Elizabeth II announced the recipients of the New Year Honors list on Saturday (December 29).
Along with numerous London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic athletes, Ewan McGregor earned accolades from the British monarch.
The "Impossible" star, and fashion designer
Stella McCartney, received an Officer of the Order of the British Empire
(OBE) honor.
This year's list is mostly British athletes, with a record-setting 123 awards, compared to 44 last time around. Of those on this year's list, 78 were related in some way to either the Olympics or Paralympics.
