The critics were in charge at the 2013 Critics’ Choice Awards held at Barker Hangar on Thursday (January 10) in Santa Monica, Calif.
One of the biggest surprises of the night came when Ben Affleck picked up the award for Best Director, just hours after he was snubbed of an Oscar nomination. His film Argo also won the award for Best Picture!
Other big winners included Lincoln‘s Daniel Day-Lewis for Best Actor, Zero Dark Thirty‘s Jessica Chastain for Best Actress, The Master‘s Philip Seymour Hoffman for Best Supporting Actor, and Les MiserablesAnne Hathaway for Best Supporting Actress.
Jennifer Lawrence was also a triple winner during the evening! She picked up awards for Best Actress in a Comedy (Silver Linings Playbook), Best Actress in an Action Movie (Hunger Games), and Best Ensemble (Silver Linings Playbook).
